Eddie Murphy has spoken out about his experience working with South African beauty Nomzamo Mbatha.

The actor, who plays the role of King Akeem of Zamunda in the sequel, says that talking to her made him realize how bad his African accent is.

“She’s a wonderful actress. Beautiful. We had a great time working together. She made me realize how c****y my African accent is; I thought it was good, but she came up with a real one and I realized mine is terrible.”

The film premieres on March 5, 2021, and reviews are pouring in on social media.

Nomzamo is thrilled she landed the role because he plays Miremebe. “Mirembe means “peace” and that’s all I want for myself,” she captioned her recent post on Instagram.
