Around 26 families from the Kennedy Road informal settlement in Durban are still without shelter after a shack fire three weeks ago. The residents have lost everything.
Since then, those affected have been sleeping in the open and have received no help from the government.
The city government says it has been unable to help the community because of the riots in July.
However, it has appointed a service provider who will visit the area and supply the residents with new building materials by Monday.
