South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, has praised Burna Boy for winning his first Grammy Award.

Recall that Burna Boy and AKA were previously at odds with each other in 2019 when the xenophobic attack was on the rise.

After the Grammy Awards, a Twitter user brought to AKA’s attention that Burna Boy won the award for “Best Global Music Album” at the Grammys.

This triggered the reaction of the South African star, which sounded very positive.

In AKA’s words:

“That’s crazy man. I always knew that guy was something special. What a King. Just because I decided to defend my country doesn’t mean I cant appreciate his greatness.”
