Hoodlums Fired Gunshots Before Setting Igboho’s House Ablaze – Police

The Oyo State Police Command has said that it received a report that hoodlums loaded in a bus and cab came to set ablaze the house of Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Igboho.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, said this in a statement on Tuesday.

Fadeyi also said the police were told that the arsonists shot several times into the air as they set fire to the house in the Soka area of Ibadan.

He said police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The house reportedly went up in flames around 3 a.m. Tuesday after power supply in the area was cut.

The police statement said, “At about 6.20am today, 26/01/2021, the Santo Police Station received a report that some unidentified hoodlums in a Hummer bus and a Micra (cab) came to the house of Sunday Igboho in the Soka area of Ibadan, fired sporadically and set the house ablaze.

“The mini sitting room was burnt in the process while the value of other properties is yet to be estimated.

“When DPO Sanyo learned of the incident, he immediately notified the fire department and also went to the scene to assess the situation on the ground.

“The fire was eventually extinguished. An investigation into the incident has been launched while police are on the trail of the crooks.”
