Nigerian actress and television personality, Zainab Balogun has admonished Nigerians not to take the COVID-19 virus lightly as she claims he knows of 15 people who have died from the disease.

According to Zainab in an interview with Saturday Beats, the reports of deaths of people who died from COVID-19 cases are not fake and the disease does not make a difference between rich and poor.

I know the nonchalant attitude that many people still have about the virus. It’s too often talked about as not being real. I want to raise my voice to clear up some of these rumors and encourage people to take the pandemic seriously.

I know of at least 15 people who have died from COVID-19, and that changes my perspective a lot.

“Unfortunately, people often don’t believe until it hits them firsthand. COVID-19 is not fake. The numbers of people dying are not fake. The numbers in the morgues don’t lie.

The virus has no preference for rich or poor. It is not malaria or a simple cough or cold. We have a responsibility to ourselves and our families to be safe and to take things seriously. We shouldn’t wait for it to hit our neighborhoods.”
