Imbewu star Zandi Nhlapo in hot water over unpaid office equipment rental

Zandi Nhlapo

Television presenter and Imbewu: The Seed actress Zandi Nhlapo is reportedly facing a legal dispute as her agency, Liquid Image, allegedly refuses to pay rent for office equipment hired.

According to Sunday World, this situation has escalated to the Joburg High Court, where Pendigo Trade and Invest seeks a default judgment against Zandi and her agency.

Pendigo, trading as Itec Finance, claims that Zandi and Liquid Image failed to pay nearly R300 000 in rental fees, prompting the company to take legal action. They are also demanding the return of the equipment in good condition.

The news publication further states that the agency is accused of breaching a second rental agreement signed on 23 May, which involved renting an Itec C258 for 60 months at over R1 500 per month and Liquid Image reportedly fell more than R50 000 behind in payments.

Zandi’s journey in the entertainment industry has been notable. TVSA reports that In 2003, she took her first hiatus after working with the national broadcaster SABC to expand her skills at a branding logistics company, where she launched her events and branding business.

A decade later, in 2013, she returned to television as the host of e.tv’s Cooking Gospel, though her stay was brief. In 2021, she made a comeback as an actor on Imbewu: The Seed.

In addition to her television work, Zandi has formed a partnership with Nivea, where she is vocal about skin and beauty, advocating for self-care and confidence with her followers.
