The 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) has extended registration for its annual Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination by two weeks.

The UTME is now also scheduled to take place from June 19 to July 3. It was originally scheduled to take place between June 5 and 19.

The UTME is a computer-based standardized examination for prospective students in Nigeria.

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, made the announcement at a press conference in Abuja on May 15.

The registrar also announced a two-week extension of registration for the exam. The registration will now end on May 29.

Professor Oloyede had indicated on Friday, May 14, that the exam would be postponed.

The registrar justified the decision to postpone the exam because of the difficulties candidates had in registering. He said that about 600,000 candidates who have indicated interest to participate in the 2021 UTME are yet to register.
