Mrs. Hauwa Adam Nuru, the wife of the MD of First City Monument Bank has refuted claims of filing for divorce after her husband was himself found in a paternity scandal.
Recall that FCMB MD Adams Nuru made headlines after he allegedly had a romantic affair with a former employee of his institution, Moyo Thomas.
Reports revealed that the two children from Mr. Tunde’s marriage belonged to him. Just a month ago, Mr. Thomas died after finding out that the children were not his.
In response, Mr. Nuru is currently on leave while FCMB management investigates his case. Meanwhile, Sahara Reporters reported that Mr. Nuru’s wife was seeking a divorce.
In a statement released on January 16, Ms. Nuru refuted the reports.
Her statement in part reads:
“I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY THAT I AM STILL WITH MY HUSBAND TO AVOID DOUBTS. THIS FAKE NEWS WAS PUBLISHED BY AN ONLINE NEWSPAPER IN A CALCULATED ATTEMPT TO FURTHER DEMONIZE MY BELOVED HUSBAND AND LOVING FATHER.
I WOULD LIKE TO REITERATE THAT AT NO TIME HAVE I CONSIDERED LEAVING MY MARITAL HOME OR FILING FOR DIVORCE, AS THERE ARE NO GROUNDS FOR DOING SO.“
