Within 17 hours, the Gofundme page set up for Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho has raised over 13,000 pounds, the equivalent of more than N5.9 million.
On Wednesday, one Maureen Badejo set up the fundraiser with the aim of raising 100,000 pounds to buy buses for Sunday Igboho, who has promised to embark on a tour of the southwestern states to flush out the murderous herdsmen in the region.
So far, about 388 people have shown their support by donating to Sunday’s fundraiser to support the cause.
“Am an Oodua tokantokan, we will get by the grace of God Almighty.”
Oluseyi Soledolu gave £10, and wrote,
“I donated for a good cause.”
Sidikat Tope Olufowobi donated £200 writing;
“I donated because I am a Yoruba woman and want peace in my part of the country,”
