Veteran actor and broadcaster, Sadiq Daba is dead after years of fighting for his life with both leukemia and prostate cancer disease.

The announcement of his passing was confirmed by one of his colleagues and film producer, Kunle Afolayan, who received the news from the wife and son of the deceased, who reports Channels TV.

Daba had been in serious medical condition for years and received support from Nigerians, including billionaire Femi Otedola, who arranged for his treatment abroad.

Sadiq Daba was a well-known icon at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the 1980s and starred in several TV series, including Kunle Afolayan’s films such as ‘C**k Crow at Dawn’ and ‘October 1st’.
