In today’s episode of Black Twitter vs Pearl Thusi: It seems like the gloves have been off since Pearl’s career began, but not to this extent.

Social media is in an uproar over alleged s*x offenders, abusive celebrities and their ability to use their money and fame to sweep scandals under the rug.

The whole r**e saga involving two prominent DJs, Fresh and Euphonik, has been talked about for ages, but their retaliation doesn’t make things any better. Despite the fact that several women have accused DJ Fresh of the same offence, their cases have remained unproven due to lack of evidence.

In the case of Euphonik, the proof was provided and he has since been labelled as an abuser. The bruised and scarred face of his then-girlfriend Bonang Matheba made the rounds on social media and instead of women showing her support, they laughed behind her back.

A woman who is known for not being B’s biggest cheerleader did not laugh behind her back but even made fun of her publicly. We are talking about Queen Sono’s own wife, Pearl Thusi.

A few years ago, during the whole #Nonke saga, Pearl decided to make fun of Bonang Matheba by referring to him as “Hlanyo.” A term Euphonik described her as after she made the accusations, meaning “crazy woman.”

A tweet that made Mama Panther trend wrote, “Remember when Pearl Thusi and Linda Moeketsi made a video asking Euphonik for nonke t-shirts and telling him they LOVE him while making fun of Bonang by referring to themselves as “Hlanyos” because that was the nickname Euphonik gave her after he physically abused her?”

Pearl has since been called out for her lack of support and loudness when it comes to social issues like gender violence and homophobia.

Another tweep wrote, “Let’s see the fu**ery of Pearl Thusi: never acknowledged light skin privilege, hijacked a brown skin girl, bullied Bonang, liked transphobic comments, tweeted that her phone was missing the day we found out Uyinene was r***d and killed, defended Tall A*s Mo.”

The DJs are still under fire for the latest allegations, so Pearl Thusi trending is seen as a way to deflect attention away from the allegations.

One tweep wrote, “Involving Pearl Thusi, Dj Zinhle and all the people who weren’t “for” Bonang back when she happened to be going through a difficult time with Euphonik is a bit unnecessary though…. We all know that Pearl and Zinhle were not for Bonang for OTHER reasons.”
